style combination mailbox door was used from 1955 through the
mid-1980s. Composition
is bronze with baked enamel. The date and manufacturer are cast
into the back of the door. Door is in good original/guaranteed
working condition, randomly selected, as received from the post
office with original window glass, with/without random original
numbers and has an original working lock.
Grecian Key
This approximately 3.5 x 5 inch size Grecian style
locking mailbox door was used from 1955 through the mid-1980s.
Many different companies produced this style. Composition is
bronze with baked
enamel. The date and manufacturer are cast into the back of the
door. Door is in good original/guaranteed working condition,
randomly selected, as received from the post office with original
window glass, with/without random original numbers and has an
original working lock with one key.
DC Eagle 1902
This approximately 3.5 x 5 inch size double combination
eagle style combination mailbox door was originally patented
1902 for
The Corbin Cabinet & Lock Company, in Connecticut. Composition
is cast bronze with baked enamel. We have seen many random styles
of dials. Door is in good original/guaranteed working condition,
randomly selected, as received from the post office with original
window glass, with/without random original numbers and has an
original working lock.
Flying Eagle Brass
This approximately 3.5 x 5 inch size flying
eagle style combination brass mailbox door was originally patented
1906 for The Keyless
Lock Company of Indianapolis, Indiana. Door is in good original/guaranteed
working condition, randomly selected, as received from the post
office with original window glass, with/without random numbers
and has an original working lock.
Flying Eagle Bronze
This approximately 3.5
x 5 inch size flying eagle style combination mailbox door mold
was originally patented in 1906 for The Keyless
Lock Company of Indianapolis, IN. The 3 1/2 x 5 bronze door as
shown here was made sometime about the 1920s. Door is
in good original/guaranteed working condition, randomly selected,
as received from the post office with original window glass,
with/without random numbers and has an original working lock.
Dial Pointer Ray 1896

5 inch size dial pointer with US plus sunray background style
brass mail door was patented 1896 by
The Eagle Lock Company, in Terryville, Connecticut. Door is in

This medium size approximately
5.5 x 6.25 inch mailbox door was patented 1892 by The Yale & Towne
Lock Company of Connecticut. Composition is cast bronze. This
is truly one of the most beautiful
doors ever made. The Federal eagle design was a reminder of our
American heritage in colonial times as the eagle head turns toward
the olive branch denoting a time of peace and is truly a collector’s
prize. There are very few of these doors still in existence.

Lock-out keys (not pictured)
These rare Yale & Towne lockout keys were made and used
late 1890-1900 to lock post office doors from the inside the
box if it was unrented or if the rent was delinquent. They are
stamped with the Yale & Towne logo, all springs in working
condition.
